Yeah, it's nice because it gives encryption. But certificates expire and their lifetime will be reduced more and more. Just turn it off and return to http. If it has been secure enough for decades, it is secure enough now.

Or is phpBB3 forcing it now?

I have revamped the webhost so the https and the running out of traffic should be a thing of the past 😎
